Wildlife Protection

Animal Life Challenge: Wildlife Protection

Unlike domestic animals, like dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, even some bird species; Wildlife is markedly different, in habitat, the ability to survive on its own, and the proposition that it can thrive in a world of predation, wide invariant temperatures, droughts, disease, habit decimation, and a host of other consequential challenges.  Protecting wildlife, is an obligation of the highest intelligent and morally constituted minds on the planet: human beings. That’s right, us.  Mother Nature will operate on both sides of the fence; providing and concurrently taking, those life sustaining elements that all life, especially wildlife depends on.  For example: droughts, forest fires, grass fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, disease, algae blooms, temperature changes, and the list goes on.  These elemental changes to the wildlife habitats and food sources, many times over, destroy or impair those key ingredients that sustain wildlife.  Humankind can be, and often times is, another lethal threat; as predator, and thief.  Hunting, trapping, deliberate over-fishing using shipping fleets to engage at-sea factory processing, herding dolphins for slaughter, advanced whaling; poisoning waters and air, destroying rain forests and natural habitats, for farming or urban development.  All of these examples, and others not mentioned, when combined with natural challenges, add up to a vastly formidable Threat to Wildlife.  As a species, we are responsible for the care of our wildlife; be it mammal, bird, amphibian, reptile, insect; we are the guardians of life on this planet.  If not for us, then who?
